Painting in Liguria, Italy
 |
 |
Barbara and her family traveled to Italy this summer for a family reunion. As it was very hot, visiting museums took a back seat to swimming in the ocean, and resting under the palm trees. Since there was a lot of down time, Barbara was able to paint often - 5 acrylic canvases and 9 watercolor paintings. She sold two small paintings on the beach, which covered the cost of lunch.
A nice feature of this location was the art nouveau style on the architecture, vintage posters and paintings. |

North Shore Living Magazine
Art Director Position
Beginning this August, Barbara will begin layout and art direction for the fall issue of North Shore Living Magazine. Barbara looks forward to continuing the strong visual appeal of the magazine while working with fellow North Shore enthusiasts Gary Forzese (publisher and founder) and Caroline Forrester (associate publisher). This is an honor for Barbara, and a good fit due to her commitment to local culture, and love of elegant design.

The Places We Shop – Expanded show at the Hall Haskell House
Reception – September 27th from 6pm until the band gets tired and the food runs out!
Because she was so busy producing 18 paintings for "The Places We Shop" exhibit at the Pingree School last fall, Barbara was unable to advertise in the local community before the show. This year, however, the collection plus up to 5 additional paintings, will be available for the public to view. The reception is in the heart of downtown Ipswich, on the same day as the Ipswich Chowderfest as well as the EBSCO Art Show. A live band will play, locally purchased food will be prepared by Chef Rennie. Postcards and books of the exhibition will be available to purchase. Paintings will also be for sale at long last!
